Diary
Dear Diary, or should I say everyone?
I’ve been trying to figure out what to write here for the
past few days. I just figured I would write about what it took to get here. Only
if you’re close to the band would you know the horror stories behind the making
of the band and album. At this point in time, SOULBLEED is finally made of four
members who like to get together and make music. To get to the final lineup was
difficult to say the least. Drummers would come in to audition with couple of
inches of dust on their drums thinking they could rip. Singers who thought they
could sing. One Singer who put real mask on his face (the kind girls use to make
their pores smaller) so he could sing or so he thought, a singer who we had
played with for over a year suddenly never shows up to rehearsal or calls us back.
There was a drummer who tried to kick us (Steve and I) out of our own band, or then
there was the one who was too high to remember anything we just did. I could go
on and on. Even after that we managed to put together a lineup (including Dave)
that ended up doing a lot of great shows and the two-song demo many of you may
remember, but one piece still didn’t fit. Finding another drummer and recording
the album wasn’t easy because we started it with two different drummers. Yes,
we recorded it twice. Finally when Jimmy entered the picture we felt like
things were really coming together and the record would take shape. We wanted
our album to be something that we could look back on and be proud of and I know
we did just that. So of course I can go on and on about people illegally
downloading music, the cost of putting out and album and blah, blah, blah. But
there are a lot of people out there who did buy the album and who did get a
song or two off itunes. For those people who have supported us- I want to thank
you. You will never know how much it truly means to us. I hope all of you will
tell your friends about us or give us horn’s up in a message. We worked very
hard to put out music that we would like to hear. I am thankful that we were
finally able to do that after all this time. There were moments where I thought
that was just a pipe dream. I’m doing what we have been striving to do for the
last ten years….playing in a band to just play music. I’m enjoying where I’m at
and those involved in my life with music now and I am thankful for that
everyday.
Hello all!!
It has been a long road getting to where we are with the release of this album. We had lineup changes, built the studio that we recorded in (Redneck Ranch), and worked tirelessly to produce what we feel is a record that metal fans will be able to relate to no matter what your taste in metal music may be. We are more driven than ever to get back out and play shows because that's where we all feel at home- playing live. We are certain that you will enjoy the new album and look forward to getting it heard by as many people as we possibly can. The new album is out now and available through our store on the site as well as itunes and other digital marketplaces. We hope you enjoy the new site and will visit often, as we will have a lot of news in the coming year.
